Fiona Sherlock

Fiona Sherlock was born in Limerick Ireland in 1989, graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2013 with a B.A. in Ceramic Design. She is currently based in Ballymorris Studios Co Clare.

My approach to work centres around psychological discourse which tends to lean towards narrative pieces. I intend my work to challenge the audience and allow reflection upon social construct, preconceived ideas of the status quo, particularly around stereotypes of social norms. Staying true to the material, I want the clay to be prominent in the process, yet , it is not just there for aesthetic purposes, it is integral to the discourse of the narrative which is as descriptive, as it is aesthetically pleasing.
