Brendan Roddy

Brendan Roddy is an artist and educator based in Limerick, Ireland. With experience in arts education and advocacy across Ireland and the United States, his practice brings together making, research, and teaching through a shared commitment to material inquiry and reflective practice. Brendan's work has been exhibited in Ireland and the United States and he holds an MFA from the Limerick School of Art and Design, a MA in Teaching from The University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and a BFA in Three-Dimensional Design from Salisbury University.

Brendan’s interdisciplinary practice combines ceramics, drawing, installation, story, and sound. His work explores how objects, places, and experiences shape identity, ritual, and belonging. Working primarily with clay, Brendan is interested in how objects carry traces of experience. Marks, textures, surfaces, and forms can hold memory, record gestures, and create opportunities for reflection and connection. Through field recordings, observation, drawing, collecting, and sensory documentation, he gathers fragments of everyday experiences that become source material for making. Since moving to Ireland, he asks: how do I develop a sense of home, of place, of belonging?
